It appears that Senator Frist

has finally grown a set concerning the possible filibuster of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito according to this AP article.

"The answer is yes," Frist said when asked if he would act to change Senate procedures to restrict a Democratic filibuster. "Supreme Court justice nominees deserve an up-or-down vote, and it would be absolutely wrong to deny him that."

"Sam Alito, who has a modest judicial temperament ... is someone who deserves advice and consent by the Senate," Frist told "Fox News Sunday."

If Senator Frist wishes to be a presidential contender in 2008, and I believe that he does, then he needs to start showing the strength of his position and stop worrying about what may or may not be popular, especially with the MSM and their fever swamp left readers. It's time to take a stand for what is right, and up or down votes for a judicial nominee is right, no matter what Senator's Reid or Boxer might say.

There are those who will say that this will backfire on the republicans when they are no longer the party in power and they may want to use the same tactics. My question to those people is if it is wrong for the democrats to filibuster judicial nominees, what makes you think it would be right for republicans to do the same thing?
