And the Beat Goes On
These days, if you listen to most of the fever swamp left, all you are hearing is how President George W. Bush lied to get us into a war that only he wanted. There are a good number of democrats that will have you believe this, from Harry Reid to John Edwards, and all the way to last years embarassment John "I voted for it before I voted against it" Kerry. They all say that the president misled them into this war.
There are two ways you can look at this. The Senate and the House get the same intelligence that the president receives, especially the intelligence committee. Either they didn't do their jobs by not reading the intelligence that was before them, and then made grandstand statements before the press to look important and pro national security only to be found to be bungling fools by getting the intelligence wrong, or they are now lying to try to sabotage this president.
The democratic party of the past must be spinning in their graves, with the exception of Robert KKK Byrd who is still breathing but hasn't been alive politically for years. To vote for war without a clue what the intelligence for going to war in the first place is, in my opinion would be criminal. To claim that a current administration lied a nation into war, while also voting for the same war with the same intelligence is hypocrisy. To say that the administration has a different, higher level of intelligence is an outright lie.
The democratic party finds itself in a difficult position. Either they go with the fever swamp left and call out to this president that he lied, take the position that they didn't have the intelligence that the president did (showing their weakness), or attempt to take the moderate approach and support the war on terror. They had better hope that if they take the moderate approach that their voting record matches. Warning to Hillary.
