Interesting

It appears that everybody's favorite junior senator from New York, Hillary Clinton has decided, in only that vitriolic tone that she can muster, that FEMA should be removed from being under the mantle of Homeland Security and go back to the cabinet level position it enjoyed under previous administrations. Most notably, her husband's. Apparently, the Bush administration has screwed it up by making it accountable to Homeland Security.

I just want to make two points here. 1) Having a separate entity ultimately called Homeland Security was not President Bush's idea. He fought having another expensive level of government for months. I believe it was Senator Lieberman who wrote the legislation creating that department and also making FEMA a subservient of that department. 2) Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton voted for these changes to take place, making her at best a hypocrite, but more than likely an opportunist. To try to make political points out of a natural disaster such as this for future, and current political points is pathetic. But then again, coming from the Clinton's, would you expect other than that?
