Enough Already
There has been way too much reporting in the mainstream media about the marine soldier who shot an insurgent at a mosque in Fallujah a few days ago. After losing the election they so desperately wanted to win, the MSM smells blood. And believe me, that's all that this is. Retribution for an election the old media fought so hard to bring home for John Kerry and the democratic party.
But I digress. The military men and women of the coalition forces are not in Iraq because they were invited to the policeman's ball. They are there to free a people. What do they get in return? They are being shot at all day every day, not just by Iraqi insurgents, although there are plenty of those as well, but by terrorist thugs from Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia. Does anyone wonder about the wounded man that was killed? How do you suppose he was wounded in the first place. The MSM will have you believe he was just this innocent guy walking down the street. 5 will get you 20 he has been trying to, and possibly succeeding in killing as many of the coalition forces as he could. This would include the Iraqi military and police forces as well. Only blocks away from that mosque, a soldier was killed because of a booby-trapped body. Our troops don't have the luxury of giving the enemy the benefit of the doubt in combat situations. Looking at the video, we don't know what all the facts are in this case. But that won't stop the MSM from demonizing this marine or the coalition forces as a whole.
The left is always saying that it supports our troops. This would be the perfect opportunity for them to show their support. There is an investigation into this shooting. Before all of the "blame America first" people get their Vietnam signs out again (they must be getting worn out by now) show that you support all of our troops and rally behind them now. The enemy is emboldened by the bickering they see in the press over here. It's time we take the wind from their sails by showing solidarity for our fighting soldiers.
I am an eternal optimist. I believe there is some hope that the left is up to the task. I pray that I am not wrong.
For those interested in showing support for all of our military personnel, I would urge you to visit soldiers' angels or anysoldier to give a donation or gift. I can't think of any better way to honor our brave men and women during the holiday season, no matter what your religion.
