Quran story doesn't pan out

It seems that the story of interrogators at Guantonamo Bay allegedly desecrating the Quran is just that, a story. According to an AP report Newsweek has issued an apology for not being able to verify the story or the sources.

Typical mainstream media. Always in a rush to report what big bad America has done and damn the consequences. In this particular case those consequences were every major muslim country in the world looking at this country verbally, and in some cases physically abusing Americans. The uproar caused by this factually untrue story is also responsible for a minimum of 15 deaths. I think that Newsweek owes a little more than an apology.
