Kerry Maintains Rank

The Beltway Buzz has the National Journal's new rankings for the Senate and House. On the democrat side Senator John Kerry has maintained his rank as #1 most liberal democrat with a lifetime average composite liberal score of 85.7. Coming in at #2 would be that "moderate" Senator Hillary Clinton with a score of 80.7.

On the republican side you have as #1 Kansas Senator Sam Brownback with a lifetime average composite conservative score of 82.5. Rick Santorum came in #2 with 78.8.

So the two leading candidates for 2008 democratic presidential ticket are also the two most liberal in the senate. That isn't going to play well in the so called fly over states.
