Dayton Calls it Quits?

A report over at TKS says that Senator Mark Dayton (D) Minnesota has decided not to run in the 2006 mid-term elections. Seeing how he tried to buy his way to the senate 3 or 4 times before he actually won, this is a pleasant surprise. His "bug out" of Washington over the holidays must have hurt him pretty bad to make him quit something he has been trying to get for over 20 years.

Also, the word is that Al Franken is going to run for the empty seat. Even if he gets all the listeners from his Air America audience, he is still going to need more than those 3 votes.
